贾斯蒂斯宣布西维珍尼亚州出现首宗新冠肺炎病例。
美国唯一一个未有新冠肺炎病例的西维珍尼亚州也宣布失守，州长贾斯蒂斯（Jim Justice）周二表示当地出现首宗确诊病例。
贾斯蒂斯表示，该病例出现在靠近首都华盛顿的东潘汉尔德（Eastern Panhandle）地区，但没有说明在哪个县。他已下令州内的餐听及酒吧关门，但仍可提供外卖服务，州内的赌场也要暂时关闭。
贾斯蒂斯于周一为防新冠肺炎入侵，已经宣布该州进入紧急状态，亦已下令州内的学校停课，并取消了州内的高中篮球季后赛。
他向民众表示，大家同坐一条船，防止疫情散播，呼吁民众遵守卫生守则，保持6呎距离及远离人群。
