加拿大总理杜鲁多于周五在渥太华总理官邸会见记者，是妻子格雷瓜尔确诊新冠肺炎后首次露面。他指妻子病情温和，而自己没有出现任何病征，因此不需接受检测，他将会透过视像通话等与官员保持联系。

杜鲁多表示，目前最关心的是确保加拿大人认真对待公共卫生建议，而不是恐慌。他另提到，国内机场已实施额外安检措施，也会在数天内公布经济刺激方案。

因应国内爆发疫情，加拿大暂停国会运作至少5周。首席公共卫生官员谭咏诗建议国民保持社交距离，避免握手及亲吻，另取消演唱会等大型活动。运输部长加尔诺则称，禁止载逾500人的邮轮在加拿大靠岸，至7月1日为止。
