一名人士日前疑因感冒入院后病逝，并被谣传因感染新型冠状病毒不治。卫生部已介入调查。

针对上述事件，槟州福利、爱心社会及环境事务行政议员彭文宝说，他有听闻相关谣言，目前相关单位已调查此事，一切有待卫生部说明。据知，网络社交媒体谣传有一名病患疑患新型冠状病毒后，在槟城医院逝世而引起人们恐慌。

彭文宝说，目前有待卫生部调查之后，由该部公布及回应相关消息。据了解，被谣传因感染该病毒死亡的人士身份不明，死因仍有待解剖报告出炉。
