槟州卫生委员会主席阿菲夫表示，其部门至今未接获任何槟州医院投报关于新型冠状病毒（nCoV）患者入住医院的消息。

他针对周日于社交媒体广传有2名旅泰中国游客，疑似患上有关病症，目前在诗布朗再也医院进行治疗，发文告做出回应。

“根据槟州卫生局的数据显示，槟州至今没有一家医院传出上述病毒的确诊报告。”

他促请民众勿要随意谣传或听信任何谣言，避免引起社会恐慌，也劝请民众照顾自身卫生以及减少到人潮拥挤的地点。
