2020年财政预算案为独中带来好消息，继去年破天荒获得教育拨款后，今年的独中拨款加码300万令吉，增至1500万令吉。

财政部长林冠英宣布，政府矢言提供优质教育，教育部继续获得最大笔拨款，从2019年的602亿令吉增至明年的641亿令吉。

根据预算案，华小和国民型中学的拨款分别是5000万及2000万令吉。

至于国小的拨款达3亿令吉；淡小、全寄宿学校、玛拉理科初级学院、政府宗教学校还有教会学校，分别获得5000万令吉拨款。

人民宗教学校与私立宗教学校、宗教私塾学校分别获得2500万令吉拨款。

财长说，配合人口增长的需求，政府将继续建造新学校，及增加修葺学校和提升工程的拨款，从今年的6亿5200万增至明年的7亿3500万令吉。

他说，政府也将为2000所政府津贴学校增加涵盖排污费在内的公用事业（utility）援助金，也就是额外拨款1200万令吉。

他说，政府将由2020年开始，也会在浮罗交怡、古来、乌鲁冷岳、布城、巴西古当、道北、马江和新山建造新学校。

他指出，政府将进一步为国民学校拨款2300万令吉，以确保学校的设施对残障人士友善，这是为配合教育部所推出的“零拒绝”政策，即不会有残障儿童因为本身的残疾，而被剥夺接受教育的机会。
