教宗方济各本周将针对新冠肺炎疫情，通过媒体进行直播方式，举行两场祈祷活动，期望各界在疫情之下保持团结。

方济各是于周日在宗座大楼图书馆透过网络直播，主持祈祷活动后，由圣座新闻室发布了上述声明。

公告中呼吁信徒，于周三中午一起朗诵《天主经（主祷文）》，而教宗将于周五（27日）下午6时，在圣伯多禄广场发表《致全城与全球》文告。

公告也重申，祈祷活动将通过媒体进行直播。

83岁的方济各上月曾为新冠肺炎患者发声，并与信众握手及亲吻对方后身体抱恙，一度引起染疫疑云。他上周日（15日）未有理会意大利封城，前往罗马市内两座教堂，祈求疫情完结。
