槟州卫生局周四否认诗布朗再也医院接获新型肺炎确诊病例的消息，并要求民众不要随意转发未经证实的消息，以引起社会恐慌。

该局的文告说，请停止转发那些会引起民众恐慌的假消息了，若不确定（官方指定的消息），可在卫生局的官方社交媒体平台获取正确讯息。

槟州卫生局在文告中也提醒民众，若有人被发现传播假消息，将会在1998年大马通讯及多媒体法令第233条文下被提控。
