土团党总裁办事处周一在媒体声明中宣布，马哈迪已呈函辞去党总裁（Pengerusi）职务，辞职信已于今日（24日）递交至党总部。马哈迪是于2016年与慕尤丁联手创立土团党，并出任总裁职，慕尤丁则任主席（Presiden）。
