新邦令金区国会议员马智礼赢得土著团结党该区部的主席职，击败原任主席阿末阿亨。

马智礼于今年1月初即丢下震撼弹，辞去教育部长职，正当众人以为他在政治受挫期间，他却在新邦令金区部提出竞选主席职，挑战阿末阿亨。

他最终以211票对79票，击败了阿末阿亨。

胜利後，马智礼也在脸书表达其感谢之意。“我感谢所有参与这一场斗争者，时刻提供援助，特別艰难时期。

他也感谢党员支持，以便由他来领导新邦令金这一区部。
