武汉天河国际机场自清晨4时开始，就开始出现许多赶在封城前离开的民众。

到了上午时段，几乎所有航空公司柜台逼满办理登机手续的民众。

一名四川籍女子表示，原本购买当天上午11时从武汉飞返成都的航班，但她凌晨刷微博时，偶然看到武汉封城的新闻，已来不及改机票，于是重新购买清晨7时10分的航班。

另一名武汉女子指出，看到新闻后立即赶往机场，想将原定上午11时飞往北京的航班改至10时前的航班，但获告知所有机票已经售罄。

她无奈说，“只要能离开这里(武汉)，让我随便买哪里的票都行”。
