香港泛民主派日前在地区议会选举中取得压倒性胜利，然而《新华社》与《央视》均不提选举结果，报道只提及点票工作已完成，全部议席已产生。

香港区议会选举结果出炉，全部452个议席中，泛民主派取得388席，得票率超过85％。在前5届区议会一直占绝对优势的亲北京建制派仅得58席。此外，这次的投票率破历史记录，超过71％。

据《法新社》报道，投票结果是香港市民向北京发送一个毫不含糊的信息。

另一方面，有中国网民则指，中国官媒对香港的报道屏蔽真相，误导人们对香港问题认知。亦有网民指，香港这次选举的大多数民意说明了问题所在，认为当局需检讨。
