2002年，人医会医护人员在慈济志工的牵引下，第一次走入位于偏远山区的高乌阿素山原住民部落。

在这块极度缺乏医疗设备及卫生意识的土地上，慈济人医会成员秉持着守护生命的使命，至今仍定期前往高乌原住民部落，进行义诊以及卫教，努力提升村子里的卫生水准。
