“一方有难，八方支援”！《光华日报》拨出好人好事基金5万令吉响应林明火灾筹款活动，并从槟城前往灾区移交支票予林明华团灾区重建筹款单位。

8月31日凌晨一场大火把百年的老镇的19间商店，11间住宅及1间民众图书馆化为灰烬，同时也导致人命伤亡，是彭亨州关丹林明开埠以来最严重的一次火灾。

当地华团发动全民筹款，为灾黎重建家园。同时，这几天在关丹BERJAYA MEGAMALL主办美食展的主办单位也会在展销期间向商家及民众募捐，希望可以筹得款项。
