廷高园盂兰胜会理事会主席高瑞华说，中元节有双重意义，即激发孝心、提倡关怀社会精神。

“中元节除了怀念祖先，及乐善好施义举；我也认为，宗教信仰必须弘扬正确的意义，去除迷信观念。”

他是在该园本周三下午庆赞中元仪式上，在致词中作如是表示。会上献捐2800令吉予各团体，计是敬群建委会1000令吉，其他各500令吉的是宝珠宫建委会、威南洗肾中心、廷高园居民协会及新大发自愿消拯队300令吉。仪式上也赠送纪念品予会员李振兴受封拿督勋衔。
