《2019年宪法(修正)法案》有惊无险在上议院通过。
上议院周四以47票支持，0票反对“惊险”通过《2019年宪法(修正)法案》,18岁人士终于可以参与投票和成为候选人。
上议院目前有68名议员，通过修宪案至少需要45票。虽然修正案获得朝野一致支持，但由于许多上议员并未出席周四的表决，最终只以47票三读通过修宪案，只比修宪最低门槛多出2票。
下议院于上周二(16日)以211张票通过修正案，把投票年龄从21岁降低至18岁、参选年龄也从21岁降至18岁，以及自动登记选民制度。
修宪案在国会上下两院通过后，预计合格选民在2023年将增加50%达2270万人，其中780万人是新选民。
