能源、工艺、科学、气候变化及环境部长杨美盈表示，政府下令把重达3000公吨洋垃圾运返来源国，料总数多达60个集装箱。

她指出，政府今日也发出传票，下令10个装有洋垃圾集装箱，在14天内运送回来源国，总共达450公吨。她说，10个集装箱分别来自澳洲、美国、加拿大、沙地阿拉伯、日本、中国和孟加拉。

她周二在巴生港口召开记者会，如是指出。她表示，根据现有《1974年环境素质法令》，商家必须在14天内把洋垃圾运回来源国，费用由商家承担。

巴生港口职员也现场也开箱9个集装箱，向媒体展示部分洋垃圾，种类包含电子垃圾、塑料、电缆等无法在循环的垃圾。

杨美盈谴责与进口商串通的商家，形同国家环境保护的“叛国者”。她认为，这些“叛国者”必须对自己的过错，并负上应有的责任。她续说，所有害群之马都会被列入黑名单，未来无法继续参与运输活动。
